Turkey Thanksgiving Theme Ideas

Thanksgiving is such a great holiday. It’s a wonderful time to look back on your year and think about all the good things that have happened to you. Of course, being a holiday lover, I always want to squeeze every last drop of goodness out of a holiday, so I decided to develop a few Thanksgiving theme ideas. One of my favorites is the Turkey Themed Thanksgiving.

* Decorate the room with pictures of turkeys.

* Don’t forget to create some turkey-based activities for the kids like turkey handprints, poems and masks. If you really want to keep the kids busy, Oriental Trading Company has a ton of Turkey crafts this year.

* Buy a rubberstamp with a turkey image on it and use it to make turkey placecards and napkins. I’ve even used  my rubberstamp with embossing powder to decorate my cork beverage coasters and table protectors.

* Set up a turkey pinata filled with silly things from your local party store, like turkey beaks and lollipops with turkey images on them.
(By the way, when I saw that the Lego company had a turkey that really flaps his wings available, I couldn’t resist getting a few for the kids. They are so cute and brought back fond memories of my Lego building days. I think its only available on their website.)

If you have some great ideas for a turkey themed Thanksgiving that I’ve missed, please share them, either as a comment or in the forum.
