Kittens, puppies, birds and Christmas trees don’t mix. Kittens and puppies can knock over trees, chew through wires and break ornaments. Having your tree knocked to the ground or going up in smoke on Christmas day can ruin an otherwise pleasant holiday.

Pet birds can actually become ill from sitting on Christmas trees and die, especially if the trees were treated with preservatives to keep pine needles from dropping.

You may want to put your pets in a different part of the house to keep them and your tree safe until you are able to supervise them carefully.
