Fun Halloween Games For a Party

When you’re throwing a Halloween party, you’ll need some fun Halloween games to keep the party hoppin’. There are plenty of things you can do; here are some great Halloween party ideas for you to get started with.

Five Halloween Party Games So Fun They’ll Be ‘Screaming’ For More!

Halloween is such a fun time of year. From the time we see the first leaves falling in September we can feel the fun of Halloween approaching.

In the true spirit of Halloween, this year along with picking up the pumpkins, decorations and treats you will be deciding on which games to play at your Halloween party!

Here are five great Halloween party games you can get your guest to play and create a party full of frightful fun!

What You’ll Need:

Apples, 1 dozen or more depending on the number of guests

Large Tub filled with cold water

Rope or Scarf

Towels

What to Do:

Bobbing for apples is a classic game that never gets old! Fill the tub up with water and pop all the apples in. Then, the player will have their hands tied behind their back with the rope or scarf and start bobbing for the apples. Make it even more fun by adding a plastic spider or worm to one apple, whoever gets that apple wins a prize!

What You’ll Need:

Rolls of Toilet Paper or Crepe Paper (1 per team)

Teams of 2 or 3 people

What to Do:

This game is pretty simple, yet lots of fun. One person gets to be the mummy and the others wrap up the mummy as fast as they can. First team to have a fully wrapped mummy wins!

What You’ll Need:

Medium Sized Bowls (5)

Small Boxes (5)

Spaghetti (Intestines)

Jello (Brains)

Peeled Grapes (Eyes)

Dried Apricots (Dried Tongues)

Baby Carrots (Fingers)

What To Do:

Fill each bowl with a separate food item that represents a gross body part. Then place each bowl inside a box and seal the box. Cut two holes out of each box just big enough to let a pair of hand reach inside to feel what’s in the bowl. Label each box with what is in it, like the Jello would be Goblin Brains, or something equally scary and gross. Get people to go through and feel each of these boxes when they know what baby part is in it.

What You’ll Need:

Index Cards or Sheets of Paper, enough for one per guest

What To Do:

You’ll need to prepare this game in advance. On each piece of paper or index card, write down a Halloween related person or object. For example, you could put Dracula, Mummy, Witch, Pumpkin, Candy or whatever Halloween related things you can think of. As each guest arrives at the party someone tapes the card to their back without them seeing it. Then guests go around asking others questions about who they are, and the answers can only be ‘yes’ or ‘no’. First person to guess who they are wins!

What You’ll Need:

A great prize for the winner to take home.

What To Do:

This is another classic Halloween party game and you really shouldn’t have a Halloween party without it. For those who work hard and take extra care to look extra scary this is a great reward for being the scariest, spookiest, or just plain coolest costume. As people come into the party take note of costumes that stand out, then after you’ve welcomed them in and done any introductions quickly write down any costumes that stand out so that later you don’t need to spend too much time looking at all the costumes. About half way through the night have the top three or five people come up for everyone to see and maybe do a vote on who has the best costume.

Creating fun Halloween games for your party isn’t hard; it just takes a bit of planning ahead. Be sure to prepare yourself for all the spooks and goblins by having lots of scary, creepy stuff for them to do when they get to your house. Don’t forget, it’s all in fun, so be sure to leave yourself sometime to be scared out of your wits too!
