You don’t need to break your piggy bank to make this a special Valentine’s Day for that special someone. Take a look at this article for some great ideas:

Ask your partner what would make a perfect day for him or her. To whatever extent possible, create that day.

Create a scrapbook or collage of your first date. Include pictures, ticket stubs and memories of that time together.

There are plenty of wonderful gifts that would be a big hit with that special woman this Valentine’s Day. However, there are a few things you really shouldn’t give as Valentine gifts. Here are a few bad ideas:

1. A vacuum – Nothing says romance like a vacuum cleaner, right? Let that special woman know that you noticed those dust bunnies under the sofa. Even if you are sure she secretly longs for that sleek, new appliance, don’t give it to her on February 14th.

2. Sexy lingerie – If she is like most women, that fancy red teddy that is a size too small is not the gift of her dreams. If you want to do something romantic for her, don’t buy any clothing, especially lingerie, since it is too hard to get the style, color, and size that she really likes. Try a gift card to her favorite lingerie shop or clothing store, instead.

3. Puppies, kittens, and small fluffy creatures – Nothing says romance like stepping in a puddle of urine while you are trying to snatch your most expensive shoes from the mouth of that cute little bundle of fur. If you want to give that special someone something to cuddle, try a stuffed toy attached to a box of Godiva chocolates.
