I’ve got two new articles up on Valentine’s Day craft ideas, so I haven’t been neglecting writing about holidays, just this blog. Melted Crayon Valentine Craft – Tie Dye Heart

This melted crayon Valentine heart craft is fun and easy for kids to make, although some parental assistance is required. You’ll need waxed paper, broken crayons and an iron. I shaved my crayon pieces into very small bits. Cut 2 identical heart shapes from the waxed paper. Sprinkle the crayon in a thin layer over one of the hearts. Place the other heart on top of the first one to make a sandwich, with the crayon bits in the middle. Iron the heart. The waxed paper and crayon wax will all melt together to make your tie dye heart. I punched a hole in the top so I could hang mine.

Valentine’s Day Craft for Kids

Don’t throw out those extra hearts from making Valentine’s Day cards. You can use hearts to make almost any kind of animal or bug you can imagine. One of my favorite heart crafts is the flower. For this, you will need:
Five 2 to 3 inch hearts of the same size and shape
One small heart or a piece of heart shaped confetti
One green pipe cleaner
Glue

To make it:
1. Glue the five heart points together so the hearts form a circle.
2. Glue the small heart or confetti in the middle.
3. Glue the pipe cleaner to the back of the flower and bend it so that it looks like a stem.
4. Repeat until you have an entire bouquet of heart flowers to give to your special Valentine.
