Are you looking for a romantic Christmas idea? Why not give that special someone in your life gifts that symbolize the 12 days of Christmas this year? Of course, you won’t want to follow the original gift ideas unless the recipient lives on a farm, but you can easily substitute less exhausting gifts.
You can decide to repeat gift one for twelve days, gift two for eleven days, etc. or you can just give each day’s gift on that day.
Day One: A golden charm (If you can, make the first charm one of a partridge in a tree)
Day Two: Dove chocolates
Day Three: Gift certificate for fast food restaurant serving chicken
Day Four: Relaxation CD (calling birds, ocean waves, etc.)
Day Five: Costume jewelry rings
Day Six: Goose down pillow or comforter
Day Seven: Origami swans (for a special touch, make them from dollar bills)
Day Eight: A gift certificate for maid service.
Day Nine: Dessert made with ladyfinger cookies.
Day Ten: A copy of the RiverDance video or tickets to see the real thing.
Day Eleven: A music CD.
Day Twelve: Tickets to a rock and roll concert.
This version of the 12 days of Christmas is truly a romantic idea, since you won’t overwhelm your loved one with squawking fowl or useless gifts. After all, a gift that ruins the house or runs up the grocery bill may not be the best idea!
